What is the wishlist?
The wishlist is a like an online memory, it allows you to bookmark a product you'd like to remember and refer to at a later date. Maybe you're just picking out tracks to listen, or deciding if they're good enough to put in your store? Whatever the reason add it to your wishlist and you'll never forget it.
How can I find out who bought what from my store?
This will be displayed on your dashboard under ‘Your store statistics’. It will show you a packshot of the product sold and also how many points you earned for making that sale. A flyer will be left at the bottom of your site to identify the user or fellow storekeeper who has made a purchase. We don’t tell you exactly which product they bought as we think that’s a bit intrusive. We can also notify you by email as soon as you make a sale if you like? Simply adjust the email notification options in your account preferences on your dashboard.
What are points?
Points are your reward for running a store and being a storekeeper. We really value your expert musical knowledge and appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into your store to generate sales. We don't expect you to do this for nothing, so every time someone makes a purchase from your store you earn a 10% reward in the form of points which can then be used to purchase music on the site. We think this is a win win situation for fans of music but let us know if you have other ideas by emailing us here:-
How can I redeem my points?
Once your shopping basket is full and you’ve decided to checkout there is an option at the checkout page to pay with points, just check the ‘pay with points’ box. The number of points required is also displayed so you’re aware of how many you’re spending. Once your purchase had been made then the points are deducted from your account.

Can I use my points on any other site?
No, not at the moment.

Browsing and finding music

How can I find new music?
As a customer, you can keep up to date with new releases and new stock in the stores you like best by making those stores your 'favourite'(s). Simply click on the favourite tab when you're logged in and in the store you want to favourite, you'll then be notified by email when new stock has arrived (also see your "email preferences"). As a storekeeper, you have full access to forthcoming releases, the week's new releases, and our recently added music via the Music tab in the store builder.
How can I add a track to my store?
To add a track, select the release containing the track and click the "add" button next to the individual track. If you don't see any "add" buttons next to the track you want then this means that the track is not available for individual purchase. Unfortunately, due to contractual reasons, not all of our catalogue is available as individual tracks.
Why can’t I find “an artist” / ”an album” on the site?
It’s likely that we don’t yet have a signed agreement with the record label or distributor for the artist / album at the moment. Rest assured we’re working our little socks off to get more agreements signed and more music in the catalogue. What you can do is add what you’re searching for on your wishlist and we’ll email you to let you know when we get it in stock.
How can I make more advanced searches?
You can search for genres by writing genre: followed by the genre you want to find, e.g. genre:Rock. Other searches to try are label:, lastfmuser:[insert a user name] and artist:.

Making a purchase

Do you have to have a store to buy music?
Nope, you can browse and shop as a customer without running your own store. Browsing through new stores is something we think is an exiting, interesting and meaningful way to discover music
Can I buy music from my own store?
Sure, you’re welcome to purchase music from your own store, although please be aware you will not earn any points for this type of sale.
Why is my purchase taking so long to pack?
There’s lots of clever stuff going on in the background, like tagging all the files with the name of the particular store you bought them from to help you can remember for the next time you shop. You can navigate away from the page or go and do something else safe in the knowledge that this won’t affect the packing process and remember, it’s better than being stuck in the chaotic ques for the tills, on a Saturday afternoon in the highstreet.
How much do music downloads from People's Music Store cost?
Standard tracks are 99p, and standard albums are £7.99 but there are many different prices depending on the product (number of tracks, and audio length). When you select a product the price is clearly displayed beneath the packshot on the left hand side of the page.
How can I pay?
You can pay with any major Credit or Debit card, PayPal or People's Music Points.
I’ve clicked on a product and it says, 'This product is not available in your territory' - What on earth does this mean?
Unfortunately, because of licensing restrictions, this means we’re not allowed to sell that particular release in your country. Let us know if there is a particular product you want that isn’t available to your territory by emailing us here and we’ll do our best to track down the required license to make it available.
Where do I find my purchased music to download?
Whenever you purchase music from People's Music Store, the order is saved in your order history. To get to this part of your account, log in and go to 'Dashboard' > 'Orders & Downloads'. Labels and Artists

Can I sell my own music?
We don’t have the ability to include user-generated audio content at the moment, but this is something we’ll be introducing in the very near future. However, if you own the digital rights to any music that you’d like to make available for download on People’s Music Store, please send an email with all the details to , and we’ll consider it. Thank you!
